MUSIC I ♥ Band: Polarsets

Every now and then you hear a song that seems to really capture the Zeitgeist. For me, 'Bonfires' by Newcastle band, Polarsets, is one such song. It was their first song that I had heard but would surely not be the last. Borrowing from new wave revival and synth-pop but very much in an indietronic vain this band has a very fresh and modern sound that puts me in that euphoric "it's 1:00am and you've been having the night of your life" mood. Polarsets' music is summer holidays, epic nights out and the morning after all rolled into  infectious, blissful songs. Intelligent lyrics delivered in a vocal style that countless intelligent emo bands of the 00s would be jealous of, this is a band to keep on your radar.

What is it about oop north that is resulting in so many awesome bands right now?

Check out 'Bonfires', 'Leaving Argentina' and 'Sunshine Eyes'. The band is signed to Neon Gold and are working on their debut album. In the meantime go pick up their EP 'Morning'.
